What is NOIP
NOIP, National Olympiad in Informatics in Provinces, is a provincial competition for youth informatics in China.
The NOIP competition awards are divided into first, second and third place awards, which are usually called "provincial first", "provincial second" and "provincial third" awards. As long as you get the award, you can apply for a comprehensive evaluation of colleges and universities, and enter your favorite universities by reducing points. of university.
As a league, NOIP is an important link between the four stages of the Olympic Games.

The entry path is to first participate in the CSP-J/S certification of the previous year, and get the semi-finals award after the preliminary and semi-final rounds; continue to participate in the National Youth Informatics Olympiad League NOIP, and players who meet the selection requirements of each province can further participate in the NOI Province Select; finally, only those who have qualified for the provincial team can participate in the National Youth Informatics Olympiad NOI.
As a league for high school students, NOIP is generally more difficult than CSP-S, but the score line for the first prize in previous years was not high, generally between 140 and 180.
NOIP has 4 questions in total. Based on previous experience, the first question is generally a common improvement algorithm, the second question is generally a more difficult improvement algorithm, and the difficulty of the last two questions is close to the provincial selection. How to be selected as NOIP
The provincial NOIP qualifications are determined into four categories: A, B, C, and D.
The first three categories are limited to high school students, among which the qualification of Category A/B is linked to the second-round results of CSP-J/S Advanced Level, and Category C is the recommended quota. Category D is an experience quota for junior high school students. Whether the current registered students are finally selected for NOIP and the scope of participation have also been announced one after another.
Class A
According to the "NOIP 2023 Quota Allocation Plan", Category A quotas are basic quotas, and each province is allocated 30 Category A quotas, for a total of 930 people. Each province must have at least 10% of female players, that is, at least three female players.
Each province has 30 places, including the 3 highest-scoring girls in the second round of CSP-J/S promotion and the 27 other highest-scoring girls.
Category B
Category B quotas are incentive quotas. The allocation of quotas depends on the annual popularization number in each province (B1), the number of NOIP/spring test outstanding proportions in the province (B2), national competition awards (B3) and reward quotas (B4).
The number of Category B quotas varies greatly among provinces, and the rules are more complicated. Generally speaking, the strong provinces of Xin'ao have more quotas, while the weak provinces have fewer quotas. Except for Qinghai Province, which is hosting the competition for the first time, there are no Category B quotas. The province with the most has 709 quotas and at least 8 quotas.
Class C
Category C places are recommended places and need to be recommended by NOI certified instructors, schools hosting NOI series activities or provincial commissioners. Except for a few previous NOI contestants who did not participate in the second round of CSP-J/S 2023, other shortlisted students need to have participated in the CSP-J/S 2023 advanced certification.
Class D
Category D is the experience competition for junior high school students. Most provinces have set quotas for the experience competition for junior high school students, which are determined by referring to the CSP-J/S 2023 second round improvement results and first-class ratings.
Being selected into NOIP has a certain relationship with the province where you are located. In some provinces, such as Hunan, Beijing, Xinjiang and other regions, the quotas for Category A and B have not been exhausted. In provinces with fierce competition, due to limited examination places, priority will be given to ensuring the participation of high school students, especially high school seniors, in the selection of NOIP.
